Former Bachelor star Sam Wood has plenty to smile about.

The 41-year-old personal trainer beamed on Wednesday as he took an afternoon stroll in Melbourne, with his daughter Charlie Lane.

He looked like he was on cloud nine as he doted on his baby girl, whom he shares with wife Snezana, just a week after selling his fitness program, 28 by Sam Wood, for $71million .

Sam cut a relaxed figure in a white T-shirt which he paired with black jeans and an army green puffer jacket.

The proud dad was seen holding a large A3 sheet with his daughter’s drawing on it as he picked her up from daycare.

It comes after the Melbourne-based personal trainer and entrepreneur sold the program to myDNA, which provides clients with personalized fitness and health plans based on an analysis of their DNA results.

As part of the deal, Wood will become an investor in myDNA, holding a 5% stake.

Since Sam Wood launched 28 in 2016, the program has attracted over 400,000 individual users and has partnered with vitamins such as Woolworths and Blackmores.

Through the myDNA deal, Wood plans to “drive growth [and] add amazing new technology features and customization to program and application.

“I think that’s why we’ve had the success that we’ve had, and myDNA, what they have that we find really appealing is that extra level of customization through genomics,” he said. he told the Australian Financial Review.

Dennis Bastas, president of myDNA, told AFR that 28 by Sam Wood’s custom app and website were a big factor in the $71 million deal.

“Sam has a huge following, and the platform itself is a nice user experience, which to be honest, from myDNA’s perspective, the attractiveness of acquiring his business was all the people who got him. accepted,” Bastas said.

Wood made headlines earlier this year when he uploaded side-by-side photos of himself showing how he went from being a “bod dad” to looking like a bodybuilder in two months.

The father-of-four explained that he had gained weight ahead of the Christmas holidays and decided to follow his own 28 by Sam Wood program to get back in shape.

Online trolls were quick to accuse Wood of deliberately making himself look bigger in the ‘before’ photo by ‘puffing out his stomach’ and arching his back.

Addressing the backlash in an Instagram video a few days later, Wood said, “To the doubters and haters, it’s okay, I get it.

“The photo on the left is me and it was taken the last week of August last year. I’m not going to get my guts out. They had just come out and my posture was suffering from a lot of things.

“I’m not sharing this as a marketing ploy. I’m sharing this to show that I’m real and struggling like so many others because many assume that as a sportsman I’m always in good shape.
